Shenhua ramps up coal production

Shenhua Group Corp, China's largest coal producer, increased production of the fuel by 17 percent compared with a year ago as the government ordered mines to boost supplies and end record electricity shortages.

Shenhua Group has produced 30.98 million metric tons since the beginning of January, the National Development and Reform Commission said.
