China Pacific Insurance reports rising net profit in Q1

Net profit for China Pacific Insurance, the nation's third-largest insurer, rose 33.9 percent year-on-year to 1.79 billion yuan (about 256 million U.S. dollars) during the first quarter, the company announced on Tuesday.

The company said revenue rose 58.9 percent to 33.53 billion yuan.

The Shanghai-based company went public in Shanghai and Hong Kong in late December, raising approximately 6 billion U.S. dollars.
