Two new faces at China Telecom

China Telecom Corp has appointed Shang Bing, previously president of China Unicom Ltd, as its president and chief operating officer.

Shang, 52, will replace Leng Rongquan, Beijing-based China Telecom said in a statement to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange yesterday. It also appointed Yang Xiaowei, also formerly a China Unicom executive, as an executive vice president.
