Major securities firms post half-year profits of over 1b yuan
Adjust font size:

Six major Chinese securities companies all posted over one billion yuan (147 million US dollars) net profit in the past half year, reported Shanghai Securities News Sunday.

Guotai Junan Securities so far boasted the highest retained profit of 4.65 billion yuan (682.9 million dollars), 63 percent of its last year's annual profit.

GF Securities, Guosen Securities, Shenyin Wanguo Securities, Huatai Securities and China Merchants Securities, reported net profits of 1.82 billion, 1.25 billion, 1.13 billion, 1.12 billion and 1.07 billion respectively.

Despite the overall picture of profit-earning, most companies lost money in their self-operation business.
