GE Healthcare announced it would bring five new products to the Chinese market by 2010 to support health care services in rural areas. No product details were available.

The rural population makes up 56 percent of China's total and has a potential market value of around US$50 million. The company's research and development center in Wuxi, Jiangsu province, will recruit 20 percent more engineers.
