China Huadian signs power contract

China Huadian Engineering Co has signed a US$130 million engineering, procurement and construction contract with PT Tanjung Kasam Power to build a power plant on Indonesia's Batam island, Bisnis Indonesia reported.

The Export-Import Bank of China and Sinosure China will help fund the project, the newspaper said, quoting Margamulia Arifin, President Director of Tanjung Kasam Power. The power plant, consisting of two 55-megawatt generators, is expected to start operating in 2011, Bisnis said.
