Dongfeng Motor JV with Nissan to expand plant

Dongfeng Motor said yesterday its joint venture with Nissan would spend 5 billion yuan (US$732.1 million) to expand a new passenger vehicle plant in China's southern city of Guangzhou.

The new plant is due to be completed in 2012 with a maximum production capacity of 240,000 units, taking Dongfeng Nissan, the Chinese joint venture, to an annual production capacity of 700,000 vehicles.
