General Motors Corp venture set for end of August

A commercial car venture jointly invested by General Motors Corp and China's FAW Group Co is said to be established at the end of this month, Caijing Magazine said yesterday.

The joint venture would be the first commercial car subsidiary for the United States auto maker in China.

Caijing said the venture will make cars in Heilongjiang and Yunnan provinces. It is set to produce 100,000 vehicles by next year and 250,000 by 2015.
