Chinese equities closed mixed Thursday. The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index on the Shanghai Stock Exchange closed at 3,051.28 points, up 2.36 points, or 0.08 percent.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed at 12,367.69 points, down 23.96 points, or 0.19 percent.

Combined turnover Thursday was 166.4 billion yuan (24.4 billion U.S. dollars), down from 172.7 billion yuan the previous trading day.

Losers outnumbered winners by 585 to 280 in Shanghai and 519 to 371 in Shenzhen.
