Chinese stocks opened mixed on Tuesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.08 percent, or 2.02points, to open at 2,432.84.

The Shenzhen Component Index edged up 0.08 percent, or 8.14 points to open at 10,308.64.
