Japanese carmakers output fall in China amid row

Three major Japanese carmakers on Thursday reported sharp decrease in their output in China in October amid tensions over territorial dispute between the two countries.

Toyota Motor Corp. said that its Chinese output tumbled 61 percent from a year earlier to 30,591 units in October, falling for the third straight month.

Nissan Motor Co.'s production in China dropped 44.0 percent to 61,360 units, and that of Honda Motor. Co. fell 54.2 percent to 26, 302 units.
