Apple Inc's update of its new iOS 8 is expected to benefit Chinese iPhone and iPad users, according to industry insiders.

The updates in the voice navigation map, calender and convenient third-party input methods in the new iOS 8 will be available in the autumn.

Chinese iOS users of iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch will be able to use turn-by-turn voice navigation features in the new version of Map in iOS 8. Consumers have previously complained that Apple's built-in maps lacked functions that are available in AutoNavi or Google Maps applications, according to market watchers.

The lunar calendar will also be integrated into the new Calendar in iOS 8.

Chinese programmers also expect Apple's new programming language Swift, released yesterday, to greatly change the industry chain of mobile games and applications development and distribution, according to industry insiders.

Apple also said it will open inputting to third-party developers, which will make Chinese language inputting more efficient.
