The first Advanced Equipment Manufacturing Investment and Trade Symposium-West of the Pearl River (AEME) will be held at the Zhuhai International Conference and Exhibition Center from August 22 to 23.

Guided by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and Guangdong Provincial People's Government, and hosted by the Economic and Information Commission of Guangdong Province and Zhuhai Municipal People's Government, the symposium is the first under the "Made in China 2025" guideline, China's first plan focusing on promoting advanced manufacturing.

The AEME covers a large scope by bringing together six cities and one district (Zhuhai, Foshan, Zhongshan, Jiangmen, Yangjiang, Zhaoqing, and Shunde District) in the area west of the Pearl River, and considered to be well positioned to consolidate their available resources.

Featuring the twin aspects of "bringing in" and "going out", the trade and investment exhibition has attracted 151 enterprises, including leading domestic and foreign ones. One-third of them are intelligent manufacturing enterprises. Around 200 projects are still in negotiation.

The symposium is expected to promote development of advanced equipment manufacturing industry in the area, which will help ensure Guangdong becoming a strong manufacturing province in the future. During the two-day event, many achievements of the equipment manufacturing industry will be shown to the public.
