Chinese Real Estate Devouring More Foreign Investment

China Monthly Economic Indicators, recently issued by the National Bureau of Statistics, showed that foreign investment has increased substantially in Chinese real estate industry during the first half of 2007.

The statistics indicate that foreign investment in the Chinese real estate business accounts for 24.1 percent of the total sum in the first half of 2007, 11 percentage points higher than in 2006.

Large profit margins in the Chinese real estate market are driving foreign enterprises to increase their investments. The real estate business has become the second largest foreign-investment-devouring sector in China, following the financial business.
