Adjust font size:

According to insiders, the Trademark Law of the People's Republic China will be revised for the third time to simplify the procedure and shorten the period for trademark registration and dispute settlement.

The revision has reportedly been put high on this year's legislation agenda of the State Council, and the relevant research was underway, according to Zhou Bohua, the head of the State Administration for Industry and Commerce.

The number of trademark applications in China has surged in recent years. At the end of last year, the total number of applications reached 5 million and that of the registered trademarks reached over 2.77 million. The third revision of the trademark law is another effort to improve the economy and toughen IPR protection.
