On November 18, 2007, the Shanghai Bureau of the World Expo Coordination signed an agreement with the Crystal Digital Technology Co., Ltd (Crystal CG), officially naming the latter as its "Designated Multimedia Design Service Provider". As the first project sponsor of the Shanghai World Expo, the Crystal CG is also the first multimedia sponsor in the expo's history.

"Expo online" is a great innovation of the Shanghai World Expo. While audiences at the expo site may personally experience this splendid event, Internet users all around the globe can also enjoy the amazing performances and wonderful exhibitions via the Web. Lu Zhenggang, Board Chairman of Crystal CG, is confident that by using multimedia technologies "Expo online" is fully capable of providing users a virtual expo as spectacular as the real one. "Users will feel as if they were also on the expo site," said Lu Zhenggang.

Smooth progress has been made in the market development of the Shanghai World Expo. To date, Expo 2010 has six global partners and two senior sponsors.
