Another strategic oil reserve base will be built in the Wanzhou District of Chongqing. Sichuan Material Reserves Administration Bureau reached an agreement with the government of Wanzhou District to build the base on November 23. This is the first oil reserve base in China's southwestern region that has been unveiled to the public. Experts view this as another step taken by the central government to further ensure oil security by establishing oil reserve bases in the hinterland.
