Baidu appoints new CFO

Top Chinese Web search firm Baidu announced on Friday that it has appointed Jennifer Li as its new chief financial officer (CFO), effective March 31.

Shawn Wang, Baidu's previous chief financial officer, died in an accident late last year. Li has become Baidu's first female senior executive.

Jennifer Li previously worked as the controller for GMAC's North American operations. She made an important contribution in transforming the financial services company into one of the most profitable entities within the GM Group. She has also served as CFO of General Motors China.
