10 Chinese companies hit by Madoff fraud

As the fraud committed by NADAQ ex-chairman Bernard Madoff surfaced, some experts said that China would not suffer any loss. Recently, however, some media have revealed that 10 Chinese companies may be hit by the fraud. They are AsiaInfo Holdings, Inc., VisionChina Media, Ctrip.com International Ltd, eLong Inc, China Medical Technologies Inc, Hainan Jinpan Electric Co., Ltd, Yucheng Technologies Limited, E-House (China) Holdings Limited and China Security & Surveillance Technology.

It is reported that the Madoff fund held stocks in these companies covering a range from 0.12 percent to 1.62 percent. This indicates a value of around US$3,713,000.
