Adjust font size:

Chinese banks have financed 6,300 Taiwan-funded companies on the mainland with a total of 230 billion yuan (about 31.5 billion U.S. dollars) in 2007, according to the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council.

Chinese banks's financing for Taiwan-funded companies on the mainland has exceeded 700 billion yuan since 2004, said Fan Liqing, spokeswoman for the Taiwan Affairs Office.

A total of seven Chinese banks have financed Taiwan-funded companies with more than 10 billion yuan respectively in 2007 alone.

China will continue to provide financing support to create a more favorable environment for Taiwan-funded companies on the mainland, she said.
