Bank of China issues RMB prepaid card for Olympics

Bank of China (BOC) officially announced the issue of Great Wall Prepaid Card in Beijing in a press conference. The bank, one of largest commercial banks in China, believes the prepaid card will be a great convenience for foreigners during Beijing Olympic Games.

As the exclusive banking partner of Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, BOC was first authorized to issue the prepaid card, which is specially designed to remove the payment barriers for foreigners coming for the Games from all over the world.

The Great Wall Prepaid Cards have different RMB denominations and strictly follow China Unionpay (the only one supplier of banking card transaction platform in China) standards. The cards will be issued from July 25 to the end of the Games in all of BOC branches and outlets all over the capital city.

BOC as well introduced its Great Wall 2008 Debit Card featured perfect combination of sports and five world-famous interesting places in Beijing. The debit card will be issued nationwide and the Bank will appropriate one Yuan for donation to Sichuan earthquake-stricken areas from each sold card.
