Chinese shares opened slightly higher Wednesday tracking Wall Street overnight gains.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index openend 0.48 percent higher, or 12.27 points, to 2,548.10. The Shenzhen Component Index rose 0.5 percent , or 48.26 points, to 9,689.16 at the opening.
