Chinese shares gain 2.42%, climb above 3,200 pts

Chinese equities gained 2.42 percent to hit a 13-month high Monday, with the benchmark index climbing above 3,200 points.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index closed at 3,266.92 points, up 77.18 points. The Shenzhen Component Index closed at 13,381.22 points, up 249.24 points, or 1.9 percent.

Total turnover expanded to 350.57 billion yuan (US$51.33 billion) from 283.6 billion yuan on the previous trading day.
