The recall, beginning July 19, covers three imported models, the LS460 produced between Sept. 5, 2006 and July 2, 2008, the LS460L produced between Sept. 5, 2006 and Aug. 1, 2008, and the LS600hL produced between July 3, 2007 and Aug. 21, 2008.

The technical problem is caused by flaw in the valve spring, a crucial component of the car's engine. The problem could cause vehicles to stall while in motion, according to a statement on the web-site of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ).

Toyota will replace the valve springs of the affected vehicles for free, said the statement.
