'China Keywords' multi-language platform unveiled in Beijing

"China Keywords,"a multi-language platform to analyze and explain essential China expressions was officially released on Dec. 19 in Beijing.

The expressions describe the developmental theories and pathways, foreign and domestic policies, and the culture and philosophies of contemporary China. The platform is a window for the international community to better understand China and the country’s development in the modern era.

The first phase of the project, available in Chinese, English, French, Russian, Arabic, Spanish and Japanese, is divided into five sections, including the Chinese Dream, Comprehensively Deepening Reform, Political Development, On Socialism with Chinese Characteristics and On the International Situation and Diplomatic Strategies.

The project, co-produced by the China International Publishing Group (CIPG), the China Academy of Translation, the Translators Association of China and the China Internet Information Center, has first been published on China.org.cn and will gradually become available in a wider range of formats including apps, and on social media and instant messaging platforms. At the news conference for the program’s release, Zhou Mingwei, president of CIPG, said that with China’s increasing international influence and as the world pays more attention to China, accurately explaining contemporary China to the world is of great significance. The platform is a very good attempt in this regard.

Wang Gangyi, vice president of CIPG said that a large number of domestic and foreign experts and scholars, as well as very professional translators, will participate in the project, thus guaranteeing the authority and accuracy of its contents.
