More favorable measures will be offered to aid Taiwan compatriots' children to attend schools or kindergartens on the Chinese mainland, according to the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council on Wednesday.

Liu Jianfeng, an official with the office, said compatiots' children can go to any public or private schools, or vocational schools authorized by local governments.

The children will be treated on an equal footing with mainland children with regard to fees and upgrading qualifications, Liu said.
