Adjust font size:

The School of Law of City University of Hong Kong has signed a memorandum of understanding with the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) in Hong Kong on Monday on enhancing capacity-building on international dispute settlement.

Under the memorandum, UNCTAD will provide cutting edge instruction packages, tailor-made for the specific audience of the university's School of Law's post-graduate program on Arbitration and Dispute Resolution.

According to the university, such project on dispute settlement can help promoting effective integration of developing countries into the multilateral trading system through development and dissemination of specialized information, promotion of research on related international and regional issues and through promoting the rules and practices of institutionalized dispute settlement.

Secretary-General of the UNCTAD said that the memorandum will reinforce the common aim of UNCTAD and the university to enhance expertise on dispute settlement in international trade, investment and intellectual property, and on international commercial arbitration in the Asia-Pacific region.
