A newcomer traffic policeman Monday allegedly shot himself in the head in a local hospital, according to an announcement by local police.

The victim was killed as the bullet penetrated through his head, according to the police.

The victim, aged 23 and surnamed Pang, joined the police forces in January this year, the police said, adding that the victim was not on debt and was not troubled with any problems at work.

The accident occurred at the Kiang Wu Hospital this afternoon, when some patients heard the sound of a gunshot, and the hospital later called the police, a TDM (Television of Macao) report said.

The victim was in charge of registering figures of traffic accident casualties in the hospital, according to the TDM.
