Duck

Halfway through the feast, a pot of stewed duck soup will be placed on the table. Everyone fills their bowls full with the soup, which has duck meat and taro pieces. "The duck soup is essential during the Mid-Autumn Festival. Usually, the northern Chinese like eating roast duck, while the southern Chinese prefer stewed duck soup. However, there is no strict rule. Nowadays, a lot of families like to have chicken soup instead of duck soup, and they will eat roast duck or duck with soy sauce," said Wang. On Mid-Autumn Day, a lot of Shanghai families will go to the Quanjude Roast Duck Restaurant and buy roasted ducks from the restaurant for the whole family.
