Thirteen people died Thursday after a tour bus plunged into the sea in east China's Shandong Province, local authorities said.
A total of 22 people, including the driver, were aboard the bus when it veered off a cross-sea bridge at 2:15 p.m. in Weihai City, the rescue headquarter said.
All the passengers were from the southern Guangdong Province. Bodies of the victims have been recovered, but their identities were unavailable.
The nine survivors were being treated in hospitals. Two of them were severely injured, while others were in stable conditions, it said.
The slippery road was believed be the cause the accident. More than 200 people, including police officers and fishermen, participated in the rescue and search in the rain.
