At least two people were killed after an oil tank caught fire and exploded in Beijing Tuesday, local police said.

The accident happened at about 3:27 p.m. on Dajian Road in Fangshan District, southwestern Beijing, according to the public security bureau of the district.

Witnesses said an electric welding operation by a worker might have triggered the fire. The identities of the two victims remained unknown.
