Chinese police are hunting for a man Friday after six people were murdered and one was injured in a village in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
The villagers were killed on Thursday night in the Lijiaershihao Village in Qingshuihe County, said a police spokesman.
The spokesman would not reveal how they were slain.
The victims were a married couple and individuals from five other families, but no other details were given.
Police are looking for 46-year-old villager Wen Tieshuan, who disappeared after the killings.
Wen had three children, aged from six to 16, and his wife was deaf, said the spokesman.
Wen's elder brother, who would not be named, said Wen was introverted, but usually got on well with his fellow villagers.
