China's Disabled Persons' Federation and China Foundation for Disabled Persons (CFDP) raised more than 200 million yuan (29.4 million U.S. dollars) at a charity campaign held Friday to help the country's children with hearing loss.

The campaign, attended by Chinese Vice Premier Li Keqiang, CFDP President Deng Pufang and other celebrities, was also held to commemorate the World Disabled Day which falls on Dec. 3.

Chinese renowned singer Song Zuying who performed at the campaign called for more attention and care for the children living in mute world.

The funds will be used to buy hearing aids and provide language training for Chinese children with hearing loss.

There are 137,000 preschool children with hearing loss in China. However, many from impoverished families have no access to hearing and speaking training and thus miss the opportunity for recovery.
