Spree killing suspect in north China commits suicide

A man who was suspected to murder six villagers and injured one committed suicide in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, local police said Saturday.

The body of the suspect, Wen Tieshuan, aged 46, was found in a cave in a mountainous area at about 10:00 a.m. Saturday, said a police spokesman.

The spokesman did not reveal how Wen ended his life.

Six villagers were found murdered on Thursday night in the Lijiaershihao Village in Qingshuihe County, the spokesman said.

The victims were a married couple and individuals from five other families, but no other details were given.

About 700 policemen had been searching for Wen, who disappeared after the killings, until he was found.

Wen had three children, aged from six to 16, and his wife was deaf, said the spokesman.

Wen's elder brother, who was not be named, said Wen was introverted, but usually got on well with his fellow villagers.
