Police in central China's Hunan Province are pursuing a suspect after a fatal shooting outside a bank Friday, local police said.

The suspect was described by the police as a man about 40 years old and 1.7 meters tall. He was of average build in a dark gray jacket.

A 41-year-old man surnamed Guo was killed in the shooting at around 11:30 a.m. in the downtown Southern Furong Road in the provincial capital Changsha, the city's public security bureau said in a press release.

The victim had allegedly withdrawn some cash and was approaching one of the cars parked outside the bank when the suspect shot him in the head.

The suspect fled after robbing the victim of 45,000 yuan (about 6,617.6 U.S. dollars), said the press release.

Police offered reward for information leading to the suspect's arrest.
