With approval from the State Council, the General Office of the State Council announced the national holiday adjustments for 2010 Tuesday.

According to the notification, there are a total of 29 days off in accordance with seven major holidays. Some regarded it as "no big surprise" compared with last year, but questions arose about whether the "flexible leave arrangement" initially implemented this year by Guangdong Province would be continued or expanded upon.

Because the Spring Festival holiday ranges from February 13, Lunar New Year's Eve, to February 19, it is likely that travel agencies will launch their Spring Festival team tours around February 10.

Specific arrangements are as follows:

I. New Year's Day: Jan. 1 - 3 (three days)

II. Spring Festival: Feb. 13 - 19, (seven days); Feb. 20 (Saturday), and Feb. 21 (Sunday) are working days.

III. Tomb-sweeping Day: Apr. 3 - 5 (three days)

IV. Labor Day: May 1 - 3 (three days)

V. Dragon Boat Festival: Jun. 14 - 16 (three days); Jun. 12 (Saturday) and Jun. 13 (Sunday) are working days.

VI. Mid-Autumn Day: Sep. 22 - 24 (three days); Sep. 19 (Sunday) and Sep. 25 (Saturday) are working days.

VII. National Day: Oct. 1 - 7 (seven days); Sep. 26 (Sunday) and Oct. 9 (Saturday) are working days.
