Nearly 5,400 seized for spreading online pornography

Chinese police have seized nearly 5,400 suspects in 2009 in a campaign to crack down on online pornography, the Ministry of Public Security said in Beijing on Thursday.
The police have cracked more than 3,200 cases of online porn-related crimes, quadrupling that of the previous year, the ministry said.
More than 1.5 million items of lewd content and nearly 9,000 pornographic websites and columns have been deleted from the Internet, the ministry said.
