A train from Ulanhot to Hohhot started up again after a 12-hour delay due to heavy snow on Monday, Xinhuanet.com reported.

"The train (No. 1280), with16 compartments and about 800 passengers, became paralyzed by the heavy snow that crippled rail service between Dadonggou and Sanjiehaizi, and the train stalled at the Zhengxiangbai banner station of Inner Mongolia autonomous region for 12 hours," said Li Honghai, the conductor of the train. The train resumed its trip at 5:10 pm Monday.

Authorities with the Hohhot Railway Bureau mobilized nearly 10,000 staff to combat the bad weather and asked for help from the governments of the snow-stricken regions.
