Police in east China's Jiangsu Province have detained another man suspected of killing six people in the northern Hebei Province earlier this week, authorities said.

Chen Huaiming, 21, was caught in Changshu City Wednesday afternoon, a spokesman with the city's public security bureau said Friday.

Chen and his father Chen Guangjun are suspected of killing six of their relatives in a rented house in Gaoyang County of Hebei Province on Monday.

His father surrendered himself to police shortly after the killings, but Chen fled.

Police did not give any details as to how he was eventually caught.

Chen Huaiming told police the six victims were all relatives of his wife's family.

He said he and his father had killed them out of revenge, because his wife's family had told her to divorce him.

The Chen's come from Heilongjiang Province in northeast China. They arrived in Gaoyang County on Feb. 27 and lived in the same home with the two men, two women and two girls who died.
