Former bank employees take to street in Beijing

About 300 people took to the street in central Beijing on Monday morning to complain about life difficulties after they were laid off by banks in various provinces and regions.

They gathered and marched at the Fuxingmen area on the Chang'an Avenue at about 9 a.m., witnesses told Xinhua.

Police officers rushed to the site immediately and a number of buses were sent there. Most of the protesters were taken away on the buses by 10 a.m..

There has been no clash between protesters and police, witnesses said.
