Chinese Vice Premier Li Keqiang Saturday urged medical workers to improve their service as the contribution to the reform of the country's health care system.

"Constant efforts must be made to improve the quality of medical and health care services, and to enhance our capabilities in disease prevention and control," Li told the opening session of a national convention of the Chinese Medical Association in Beijing.

Li said health care and medical professionals must work to achieve the major goals of the health care reform, which seeks to provide affordable and adequate health care services among other things.
