Brother Sharp, a vagrant who gained online fame with his unique fashion style, will continue his career in fashion despite an unsuccessful trial run at a runway show in Guangdong Province last weekend.

Brother Sharp, whose real name is Cheng Guorong, will remain a model for Biguiyuan Farm. According to the head of Biguiyuan Farm, surnamed You, the fashion team will provide a costume designer, make-up man and model trainer for Brother Sharp for professional catwalks.

"Although his [first] performance was far from professional, his effort has been acknowledged by the farm leaders, who believed he has the potential to be a qualified model," said Brother Sharp's uncle.

Brother Sharp was recently reunited with his family in Jiangxi Province and diagnosed with autism. Biguiyuan Farm offered him a monthly salary of 3,000 yuan (US$439.38) to help him support himself.

His runway show over the May Day holiday weekend received many negative reviews from the media and netizens. It was previously reported that the criticism angered Brother Sharp's uncle, who took him home. But his uncle has now denied those reports, saying Brother Sharp was going home to spend Mother's Day with his mother.

Brother Sharp gave his mother traditional Chinese medicines, including ginger tea and swallow's nest, as well as 2,000 yuan, said his brother, Cheng Guosheng.
