Chinese Vice Premier Hui Liangyu on Monday called for more efforts to speed up the development of services for the disabled, as well as for society to better take care of the disabled.

"The hearts of the disabled should be filled by warm love," Hui said while opening a six-day promotional event at the Life & Sunshine Pavilion at Shanghai Expo Park on Monday.

Hui was accompanied by Shanghai Party Chief Yu Zhengsheng and China Disabled Persons' Federation Honorary Chairman Deng Pufang, among other leaders and representatives for the disabled from both home and abroad.

The pavilion, with the theme: "Better Urban Life for Disadvantaged People," is the first pavilion especially designed for disabled people in the 159 years of Expo history.
