China's largest children's organization, the Chinese Young Pioneers, is scheduled to hold its sixth national congress in Beijing  from June 1 to 2.

The congress, held once every five years, will discuss the organization's role in promoting children's healthy growth and comprehensive development, according to a statement released Sunday by the group.

Some 806 young pioneers, tutors, and organizational staff from the country's 56 ethnic groups will attend the meeting. Of them, 407 will be delegates of young pioneers.

During the congress, a series of activities will be held for the delegates, including visits to the Ministry of Education, the Beijing National Stadium and the Beijing National Aquatics Center.

The Young Pioneers, whose 130 million members are mainly primary and secondary school students aged between 7 to 14, constitute the majority of Chinese children.
