2 high school graduates from Hubei commit suicide

According to Chutian Metropolis Daily, two candidates for this year's college entrance exam, who were from Hubei Province, committed suicide.

During China's 2010 college entrance exam, which is held from June 7 to 8, more than 9.57 million students will vie for 6.57 million places at the country's universities or colleges. [Xinhua]

One was a boy who came from a rural area. He attended a school in Guangshui City for students who choose to do further studying after failing the national college entrance exam. At about 7:00 a.m., he entered a nearby hospital and fell from the top floor of the building. It is reported that the boy didn't have any abnormal actions before the tragedy.

The other candidate was a girl from a high school in E'zhou City.

The local government attached great importance to these two deaths and urged the related department to keep the stability in high schools during the three-day national college entrance exam.

The police have already been involved in the investigation.
