The Party School of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee opened to media from both home and abroad Wednesday, one day ahead of the 89th anniversary of the founding of the CPC.

More than 60 reporters, including 42 from 24 overseas news agencies, were invited to the mystery-shrouded school in the northwestern part of Beijing.

It is the first time for the Party school to invite such a large number of overseas reporters.

Many overseas reporters, including those from CNN, the Associated Press and the Agence France Presse, told Xinhua that previously they knew little about the party school.

The CPC Central Committee Party School serves as the main and highest educational institution for the training of medium and high-ranking Party officials from across the country, including ministers, and provincial Party chiefs and governors.
