An exhibition to recreate the scenes of the disaster relief in quake-hit Yushu in northwestern Qinghai Province opened Tuesday.

The exhibition in the Military Museum of the Chinese People's Revolution will last until Sept. 20. It shows the relief process by displaying pictures and objects such as clothes and tents.

Addressing the exhibition's opening ceremony, Liu Yunshan, head of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, said the exhibition would provide fresh teaching materials on patriotism and collectivism.

The exhibition was held by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, the State Ethnic Affairs Commission, the International Communication Office of the CPC Central Committee, and Xinhua News Agency.

Chinese Vice Premier Hui Liangyu was also present at the opening ceremony.

The 7.1 magnitude quake struck Yushu on April 14, killing more than 2,200 people and flattening thousands of homes.
