New students enrolled at Peking University this year will receive a computer game with their letters of admission, a report on Hubei-based website cnhubei.com says.

Once installed on the computer, the game will lead students around the university campus. On the screen will appear the encouraging sentence: From today, your life will be connected with Peking University, which may also influence the way you live. Then the game shows students around the campus so they can see its beautiful sceneries during the four seasons.

When the game starts, a new student begins his journey by registering at the university, getting his student identification card, and going to canteens and libraries where he will spend most of his time on campus.

The game also lets students learn how each student group functions and tells them how many credits they must earn during their academic years.

An employee from the Recruitment Office at Peking University said the aim of the computer game is to provide new students with knowledge of the university before they arrive on campus.

Many students who have received admissions letters have showed great interest in the game and believe it is a fresh concept for the university.
