China's Ministry of Finance (MOF) and Ministry of Civil Affairs Tuesday allocated 2.01 billion yuan (294.85 million U.S. dollars) for natural disaster relief work.

Serious flooding and mud-rock flows have hit Liaoning, Jilin, Shandong, Henan, Sichuan, Yunnan, Shaanxi and Gansu provinces recently, said a statement on the MOF website.

The funds will be used to help relocate disaster-affected residents, rebuild destroyed homes and compensate bereft families, said the statement.

Floods, landslides and mud-rock flows in China had killed 3,185 people and left 1,067 missing this year, according to statistics from the Chinese National Committee for Disaster Reduction and the Ministry of the Civil Affairs.
