Citizens who provide corruption tip-offs will receive a reward of up to 200,000 yuan (US$29,168) from Chongqing Municipal Government.

An informer can get up to 8 percent of an official's illegally-obtained money confiscated by the authorities, but total cash reward is capped at 100,000 yuan, according to the Chongqing Procuratorate yesterday.

The reward increases in value according to the number and ranks of officials involved and the impact of their case on the society.

Real-name informers will receive an extra 1 percent bonus.

Anyone who made extra contribution to the revelation of official grafts will be rewarded 200,000 yuan, today's Chongqing Morning Post reported.
